5th Grade Math Information: Corrections: Homework and classwork can be corrected and returned with a parent signature to earn up to a 70. Graded papers will be marked at the top with “CARS by [date]” as a reminder for students to make corrections. They typically have one week to complete these corrections.
Grading for Corrections: If at least half of the missed problems are corrected accurately, their grade will be adjusted to a 70, reflecting their improved understanding. If fewer than half are corrected correctly, the original grade will remain.
Missing Assignments: An "M" in the gradebook indicates a missing assignment, which currently counts as a zero. Students have seven days to submit late work before it remains a zero.
Late work penalties are as follows: 1 day late: -15 points 2 days late: -30 points 3-7 days late: -50 points Planners: If your child has missing work, they will receive a sign in their planner as an additional alert.
Tests: Please note that tests cannot be corrected, as they should reflect independent work. All classroom tests will be completed on DMAC, our district's online testing platform.
Homework: Assigned nightly and will be due the following day at the beginning of class. Additionally, incomplete classwork may be assigned as homework.
